Nice try... but incorrect!
Feeling sorry for your sins or confessing your sins cannot take them away. The Bible says that the required payment for your sin is death, separation from God forever. But, Christ died and made the payment for your sin and mine.
"For the payment for sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23
